Roamber, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Roamber mobile application and website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information. If you disagree with its terms, please stop using the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Email address — collected when you create an account for authentication.
- User-generated content — posts and comments you submit. All public posts are published anonymously.
- Profile information — optional display name and avatar.
Information Collected Automatically
- Location data — approximate geographic location (within a ~1-mile radius) when you use location-based features. We do not record a precise GPS trail. Your location is not sold or shared with advertisers.
- Device information — device type, OS, browser type, and app version.
- Usage data — pages and features you interact with, crash reports, and performance data.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver them via OneSignal.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use session cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information

3. How We Share Your Information
Service Providers
We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate the Service: Supabase (database & auth), OneSignal (push notifications), Stripe (payments), and Median.co (mobile app wrapper). These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for other purposes.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Roamber, our users, or others.
Business Transfers
If Roamber is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you in advance.
Public Content
Posts you publish are visible to users nearby. All posts are displayed anonymously — your email is never publicly associated with your posts.
4. Location Information
- We collect your location when you open the app or post content.
- Your last known location is stored to serve nearby posts when precise location is unavailable.
- Your posts are shown only to users within approximately 1 mile of the post's location.
- Your precise GPS coordinates are never displayed to other users.
- You may revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. User-generated content may persist after account deletion but will be permanently anonymized. You may request deletion by emailing privacy@roamber.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Due to user-generated content, we recommend the Service only for users 17 and older. Contact us at privacy@roamber.com if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest to protect your information. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction — update your account information through the app's profile settings.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us.
- Push notifications — disable at any time through your device settings.
- Location permissions — revoke through your device settings.
- California residents — may have additional rights under the CCPA. We do not sell personal information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
